Ch. 5 Dying and Death

Hello bloggers long time! Well I got back to my reading and one of the chapters that stood out to me the most was chapter 5 which is titled Dying and Death. This chapter is based on the last few months of life. How the family prepares and deals with what is soon to come. One point that stood out to me the most was the recommendation #22: Be Prepared for the ‘Ups’ and ‘Downs’ and create a plan. This was one thing that I can say that most people are uncomfortable doing because they don't want to face the fact that a love one is slipping away. Well the recommendation tells us to make a plan. Discuss it with the love one and the family. Be ready to accept that everyone will not agree with the plan. Then basically be there for each other. Comfort each other though this tough time.

This is honestly one thing that I can say that I am not ready to go through. Of course we have discussed death and arrangements with my parents but it is one thing to talk about it and another to have to actually prepare for it. My mother wants to be cremated and want her aches poured into an ocean that way if anyone wants to go pay their respects they can go to any body of water light a candle and say a short prayer. My father wants to be buried in our large family plot. That is all we have planned so far but we know that there is much more to it than that. I know that my mother doesn't want to suffer if she is ever really sick but still someone will have to decide when enough is enough and when we think it is time to let her go. The story said how everyone want their love ones to gave a good death which is not possible, because even it they are not in pain or they die in their sleep rather quickly death will never be viewed as a good one in any ones eyes. I know what we have to do and I know that when it comes down to it we will all get through it together.
